VRS Employment Opportunities
Valley Residential Services hires several times per year for the position of Substitute Instructor. We offer minimum wage, reasonable benefits (including health insurance) and an exceptional working environment.
Basic requirements include:
- Eighteen years of age or over
- Legible writing
- High school diploma or GED
- Driver’s license, good driving record and insurance
- Able to pass criminal background check
- Able to pass substance abuse screening
- Able to obtain several other certifications such as First Aid / CPR (training provided by us)
- Good physical condition, able to lift over 50 lbs
- Honesty, integrity, common sense, consideration and a sense of humor
If this describes you, and you are willing to work flexible and irregular hours, you can be hired and trained for one of our Substitute Instructor positions.
We offer two weeks of training (paid at minimum wage) and an opportunity to prove yourself capable and fit for one of our regular full or part time positions. Many of our substitutes who make themselves available and demonstrate integrity rapidly work into full time employment. (As with most things in life, there are no guarantees!)
After training, pay is $9.90 per hour, or an equivalent monthly salary once a regular full-time position is attained.
While we are unable to offer raises at this time due to state funding cuts, we do maintain a substantial benefit package which includes paid time off and employer paid health insurance. Benefits begin six months after a regular position is accepted.
