General Information:
​
Program Purpose:
-
The CORD Program maintains a drug- and alcohol-free environment.
-
No substance use is allowed on C.OR.D. Property.
-
Supports homeless veterans in developing the skills to live independently and successfully in the community.
-
Participation requires actively engaging in the program.
​
Main Goals of CORD:
-
Residential stability through a mandatory savings program and budget created with a case manager.
-
Increased living skills and/or income.
-
Greater self-determination through individualized personal recovery within the program.

Recovery-Based Model:
-
CORD is a recovery-based program focused on personal goals.
-
A Personal Goal-Centered Recovery Plan (PCRP) is initiated within the first 30 days, allowing veterans to shape their own recovery journey.
-
Once a PCRP is established, veterans must demonstrate progress toward their goals with support from CORD staff, the VAMC,and community resources.

Program Hours & Emergency Support:

Regular hours: 8 AM–4 PM, Monday–Sunday.
-
On-call staffing available 24/7 for emergencies only.
-
Veterans must call 911 first for emergencies before contacting oncall staff.
-
Non-emergency matters should wait until the next business day.
-
On-call calendars and emergency contact lists are available in each house.

Clean & Sober Living Expectations.

Veterans Seeking Support Will Receive:

Safe, Stable Housing – Transitional homes designed for veterans working toward independence.

Financial Security – Mandatory savings program and budgeting help to build long-term stability.

Personalized Recovery – A goal-centered recovery plan (PCRP) tailored to each veteran’s unique path.

Skill Building – Training in daily living skills like communication, hygiene, cooking, and money management.

Dedicated Support Network – Access to case managers, therapists, VA liaisons, and peer support for guidance.

24/7 Emergency Assistance – On-call staff available for crisis situations, ensuring safety and intervention.
